The jojoba plant grows as a shrub in the desert region. Its seed containing almost 50% oil, Seeds are used to obtain the oil. Actually the fact is that jojoba is actually a plant wax.

It is extracted as Golden color liquid wax and then usually for cosmetics it can filtered and refined into an odorless and colorless oil.

 

Jojoba is a very useful plant is the only genus of the Simmondsiaceae family. The shrub is the only plant species belonging to the monotypical genus. Jojoba is known by a number of names including lemon leaf, wild hazelnut, coffee berry, pig nut, goat nut, sheep nut and deer nut. First analysis of this oil was done in 1895 by Léon Diguet. This oil’s specific consistency was recognized as wax in 1933.
